Aggressive Behavior in Your Cat

If your regularly docile cat suddenly starts exhibiting aggressive behavior, it may benefit you to find out what is causing the aggression.

If your cat is feeling threatened by someone or something (another cat or a visiting dog) he or she may try to attack. Cats sometimes have trouble discriminating between the source of the anxiety (the person or animal) and will attack you if you get in the way.

They don’t mean to attack you, this is just their reflexive fight or flight mechanism at work (even humans have this ingrained in their DNA.)

Aggression in cats can also be caused by a poorly balanced diet. Cats (neutered) should eat at least 25% animal protein (beef and chicken) while pregnant and nursing cats should have an animal protein content around 40%, to remain their healthiest.
