Blind Cat

Living with a Blind Cat - Regarding Cats

Opening your home and your heart to a special needs feline can be a very rewarding experience. The return of love and companionship will more than compensate for the extra care and attention that your special needs cat will require.

Living with a blind cat has it's challenges. But they are dear, affectionate pets and deserve a safe, loving environment with someone who is conscious of their disability to live out their life.

You'll want to keep furniture re-arrangement to a minimum and try not to leave things laying in their pathway that they can bump in to.

When approaching a blind cat, talk in a low and soothing voice so they know that someone is coming near them. Startling a blind animal can result in harm to not only the animal but yourself in the bargain.

Often, a blind pet will be deemed unadoptable. So giving a home to a blind cat or kitten will preserve the life of a defenseless animal that can grow into a dear companion.
